Tradebe Gwent Takes Safety to a New Level

As the saying goes ‘Safety does not happen by accident’ but requires dedication from all and this is something that is a focus for all sites including the Treatment Works at Newport in Gwent. Julie Campbell, the new SHEQ Manager at Gwent has brought a fresh approach to H&S management and the team are working together to re-invigorate safety performance.

At Tradebe, it is emphasised to all employees to report every accident, incident and near misses. In an act to promote safety awareness, a number of new initiatives have been introduced at our Tradebe Gwent site. These include a prize draw for employees reporting near misses, prizes for identifying workplace hazardous hidden within an illustration and the introduction of a new Workplace tool for accurate safety reporting.

Training is another key element to H&S management and the team are looking at opportunities both within the company and at outside sources in order to refresh key skills within the group, not only for H&S but also extending to environmental issues as good environmental and H&S management go hand-in-hand.
